Review: SK-II Facial Treatment Essence Eye Cream

On March 11, 2014 by Michelle Ng

Hey all!

Working till 1am everyday is definitely taking a toll on my skin, and my eyes! With the lack of sleep, fewer cells are being regenerated during my beauty sleep, causing the skin around my eyes to deteriorate. Luckily, SK-II has come up with a new facial treatment essence eye cream to help with my issue.

A solution inspired by 10 years of research. This potent serum instantly reduces the appearance of dark circles and fine lines around the eyes. Used with Facial Treatment Essence, eyes look brighter and livelier by 40%! This new eye serum contains a miracle formula that combines the power of famous Pitera™ with the new Eye Albus Complex to reduce the appearance of dark circles and fine lines..

Thanks to SK-II, I was invited to their event to learn more about the new eye essence.

During the event, we were shown here other eye creams that SK-II owns. And now the star…SK-II Facial Treatment Essence Eye.

Texture:
Light and velvety. Not too thick that might cause milia seeds around the eyes. Light enough to be absorbed into the skin fast, yet rich enough for moisturizing your eye area that does not produce enough oil for moisture.

How to use:
Pump once onto palm and dot around both eye zones using your ring finger. Still using your ring fingers, dab evenly around each eye zone, gently massaging in a circular motion. Apply morning and night before moisturizing.

The facial treatment essence works well with the original Facial Treatment essence, as well as, the Skin signature eye cream or SK-II LXP perfecting eye cream.

One downside is that this product might not be as effective as when used with another eye cream. On its own, this eye essence is good, but works much better with another eye cream. This essence preps the eye area, which improves the absorption and the efficacy of the next product that would be layered on top. I would still use this eye cream though, just because it contains great antioxidant powers.

Here’s why, watch this video:

Look at the bananas!

Since I have already mentioned how you can use the cream above, let me describe on how I use facial treatment essence eye.

Before I apply my SK-II facial treatment eye, I pour some SK-II facial treatment essence on some cotton pads and then I proceed to place the cotton pads on my eyes while I lay down and rest for at least 10 minutes. After which, I use a pea sized amount of the eye essence:

Massage the cream into the eyes, making use of your lymph nodes to drain any excess water retention around the eyes.

Finally, I apply my usual eye cream over the facial treatment essence eye. By then, the treatment would have already been absorbed into my skin.
