Hello,
2 months back I picked up a pre-loved, almost new Chanel blush and I am so ecstatic to receive this in my mail as this would be my first Chanel blush!
Mine is a Irreelle blush (which is discontinued) instead of the standardย Chanel Joues Contraste (dome) blush you see now. I have heard that Irreelleย formulation is better in terms of it being more finely milled and less shimmery.
I hate the brush that comes with it to be honest. This brush is as dry as hay and you can probably be able to judge from the photo above. For this blush I use my own blush brush. It works well with both blush and a stippling brush like Mac 187.
Close-ups:
This blush does not contain a significant amount of shimmers but there is some light reflecting particles, probably almost negligent to our naked eyes, as this blush provides a nice glow on my cheeks. I wouldn’t say that this is insanely pigmented as what I achieved most from this blush is not colour but more of a sheen.
Comparing Chanel In Love with other blushes:
- Illamasqua Lover
- Nars Amour
- Mac Instant Chic
- Mac Stereo Rose
Here I have taken out all my coral blushes for comparisons.
Swatches:
Can you see the sheen that Chanel In Love gives? It is different from the shimmery effect that Mac Stereo Rose gives. Hence, Chanel In Love is much more wearable.
I would say Chanel In Love would show up on NC15 to even NC35 skin as you would obtain a nice glowing sheen.
Because of the sheen, Chanel In Love reminds me a lot of Nars Orgasm blush which is pinker.
Swatches:
Both gives me a glowing effect on my cheeks. Hence, if you want a more coral version of Nars Orgasm, do try out the Chanel blush at the counter. I cannot promise thatย Joues Contraste blush is exactly the same as the discontinuedย Irreelle blush, but it would be quite similar.
Thanks for reading ~
