Review: L’Oreal Youth Code Pre-Essence + Eye Essence

L’Oreal Youth Code Eye Essence was recently launched and I wanted to do a review on both the eye essence and the pre-essence because many are very eager to know the effectiveness of these two products.

The secrets behind Youth Code

Review of L’Oreal Youth Code Pre-Essence

With its lightweight texture that sinks into the skin immediately, this is perfect for hot and humid weather like ours. If you have oily skin, don’t worry about it leaving any oily film on your face as this really makes your skin work like a sponge. With fast absorption, applying our normal skincare products on our skin is so really easy. This pre-essence is made to boost our skincare routine, making them increase their effectiveness.

Usually what increase better absorption of our skincare products is to remove the dead skin cell on our face and with the acid in this youth code boosting, this aided in the exfoliation of our skin to reveal our actual skin without the dead skin cell blocking our normal absorption of our skincare.

This however contains alcohol so make sure your skin is well moisturized before using this else the alcohol might dry out the skin. The scent of this pre-essence has a strong scent of alcohol as well, so be careful if you get drunk easily!

I like to apply this pre-essence before using a sheet mask to get amplified results. Makeup Artists like Ms Dollei Seah also recommend using Youth Code Boosting Essence before your foundation or BB Cream to achieve a natural, dewy finish that lasts longer without touch-ups. Overall, as I have a dry skin type, this pre-essence helps in maintaing the moisture of my skin as it retains the moisture given by my normal skincare products.

Review of L’Oréal Paris Unveils Youth Code Eye Essence

Even though L’Oreal recommend you to use it alone, I like to use my regular hydrating eye cream over this eye essence. I do not find applying the essence in addition to an eye cream too thick as the eye essence gets absorbed into my skin as fast as a lightning! Hence, I really like this refreshing sensation every time i use this eye essence.

Having been using this essence for a month, I am pleased with the results. As a person who will suffer from heavy dark eye circles if I have lack of sleep, I am glad to say that my dark eye circles seem to be under control when using this essence. No panda eyes! While I still have some fine lines near my puffy eye bags, I do not notice much fine lines at my eye corners. Obviously, we can only see vast visibile results, not only by applying just the essence, but also by taking good care of our eyes. Sun protection, sufficient consumption of water, sleeping early etc. All in all, I love to use this essence in conjunction with my other eye creams for added beenfits.
