Hi all!
How is your first week of the new year? Can’t believe today is already the 11th of January, and a couple more days later, it would be Chinese New Year! I am sure most of you are already prepping your skin ready for this festival for those who celebrate it, so that your skin is at the tip top condition. Well, in order to ensure your skin is supple and smooth, it has to be well moisturized. That is when your moisturizer comes in handy. Today I am going to review Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream!
Kiehl’s ultra facial cream has been in the market for years and surely, there has to be a reason why. With over 2 Million jars sold in 2012, Kiehl’s sells 4 ULTRA FACIAL CREAM PER MINUTE GLOBALLY across 45 global markets. As many skincare companies offer 24, 48, and even 72 hours of hydration, Kiehl’s chemists – never trend chasers – focus on ensuring Ultra Facial Cream offers much more than surface hydration.
To ensure it hydrates even the most parched skin, Kiehl’s has sent its legendary Ultra Facial Cream to the uncharted peaks of Greenland, 282 feet below sea level in Death Valley, 13,000 vertical feet to The Mount Whitney Portal – and this year, across the frozen sea ice of the North Pole.
Key Ingredients: Antarcticine (a glacial glycoprotein sourced in Antarctica), Imperata Cylindrica (a desert plant extract indigenous to the Australian Outback), Squalane, Avocado Oil, Tocopherol (Vitamin E)
Key Formula Attributes: Light-texture cream; provides 24-hour hydration with continuous water replenishment throughout the day; leaves skin visibly well-balanced, with improved softness, smoothness and radiance; particularly in harsh weather conditions; helps reduce moisture loss while drawing and absorbing moisture from the air.
This cream looks rich and thick but don’t be fooled by its appearance. This cream sinks into your skin fast, giving the moisture that your skin requires stat.
I actually brought this moisturizer for my New Zealand trip earlier in November. As the weather there was windy and surprisingly cold for the Spring/Summer transition (around 10 Degrees Celsius at its lowest!). I was freezing on the first day that I had to layer three jackets over!
That aside, Kiehl’s ultra facial cream was one of the key moisturizer that I had to rely on throughout the entire trip. This moisturizer was sufficient enough to provide the moisture but most importantly, ensuring that the moisture is retained in my skin. However, I had to slap on quite a bit of this moisturizer on my face as I have extremely dry skin and the weather at New Zealand wasn’t helping. If you are to consider using this in Singapore where the weather is humid, a pea size of this cream is sufficient.
There goes my review. In summary, if you have dry skin, do give this a try! And if you are interested to know what I did in New Zealand, the post is coming up soon!
