Today is my first day of school, meaning less shopping (perhaps?). Hopefully I will still have time to blog 🙂
Anyway, I just received my Orly Space Cadet on saturday, from Priscilla/teaplayground! Yay! Totally brightens up my day since I was quite sick that day, down with fever and flu.
Space Cadet is from the Orly FX cosmic collection with polishes that I believe are inspired from galaxies in outer space. I think Orly really nail this collection right on the spot. These polishes show different colours from different angles and lightings, just like duo chrome eyeshadows. Ah the series also reminds me of those professional bowling balls!
As quoted from Orly, “The MINERALFX technology includes specialty mica, that allows for a clearer, vibrantly bright lustrous shimmer. Crystals allow for a multi-dimensional color transformation. Glass particles carefully controlled in shape and size create a luminous phenomenon. This combination infused with the Silica and specific colors selected create this exclusive technology that gives nails a unique optical effect that’s magnified as the lighting source intensifies or viewing angle changes.”
For Space Cadet, upon first application, the coat is sheer dirty green with purple shimmers. Only with the 2nd coat can you see a more obvious duo chrome effect.
Under bright light at a certain angle, you can see the green in the polish very well. And when there is insufficient lighting, the polish would be more purple.
As this is my first Orly, I cannot comment on the application comparing to regular Orly shades. However, I can say that Space Cadet gives me no problem in the application. It is much easier to apply compared to glitter nail polishes. Though it can be a bit thick and goopey at times, but it is not a big deal.
At night, under yellow light:
Space Cadet is definitely a keeper for me. One of my favourite nail polish yet.
