Since I have done a review on a review on Mac Pro Longwear concealer that I used for concealing my undereye dark circles, I decided to go deeper into the topic.
This is just a my way to concealing my undereye dark circles so I thought I share how I did it. Before I show some pictures, there is a youtube video done my Lisa Eldridge makeup artist regarding undereye dark circles and this video alone is sufficient enough for you to understand how your dark circles develop and how you can tackle them. Removing dark circles completely is difficult, so one way is to know how to conceal them instead.
Here is the video:
From her video, I understand that my dark circles is usually caused by lack of sleep and the pigmentation. My dark circles is mostly brown, occasionally purplish. To counteract the darkness of my dark circles, I prefer using salmon or orange-toned concealer. Concealers that are too pink did not work for me.
Luckily for me, with sufficient sleep, I do not suffer from extreme dark undereye circles, but you can still see the brown pigmentation at the inner corner of my undereye.
I place my concealer along the inner corner area and just pat my concealer until its blended into the skin.
Next to further brighten up my undereye area, I used my Touche Eclat highlighter pen by YSL and place it under my eyes, as below.
Of course, there is no need to use YSL, any highlighter concealer or highlighter by any brands would do. Just try not to look for those with obvious shimmers as they might emphasize your fine lines under your eyes.
Here are the before and after photos:
You can see that my undereye area is definitely brightened and look less tired.
That is my way of concealing my undereye dark circles. Hope this helps!
