Honest Crafters Bag Spa and Restoration for my Miu Miu Bag

Hi all!

Bag Spas are one of the best services around if you have a worn-to-death leather bag that needs some miracle reviving it back to its glory. This Miu Miu Matelasse bag that I have here is in a poor condition, with a broken strap and faded leather. The corners are also in poor condition, especially at its handle.

I researched for a few bag spas in Singapore, and I found Honest Crafters who have different packages.

I first sent a few photos of my bag to their whatsapp number and based on their evaluation, they replied with my customer code, and their quotation. I also asked them for their recommendation, as initially, I only wanted colour touch up on the edges of my bag, and to fix my handle. However, they recommended me to go for the entire bag so that the whole bag will be restored to almost a brand new condition. I didn’t regret taking on their advice as they have literally given my Miu Miu bag a second life!

The services that I did was:

• Accessory repair
• Colour Touch Up
• Removal of Stains
• Edge Repair

This was paid for on my own. Here is a before (left photo) and after (right photo)!

Below are a series of photos of what I needed to fix for my bag so that you can carefully see how they were being repaired. Here are the after shots!

If you were to see the bag at its original stage, you would have given up on the bag entirely. But, thanks to Honest Crafters, the bag is good to be used for another good 3-5 years! Overall, I feel that the restored colour is painted on very evenly all over the bag, especially at the creases where Miu Miu Matalesse leather bags are known for. The strap and the edges were repaired so they no longer feel rough.

Below are some spots which I think can be improved on in terms of bag restoration.

A few things to take note, especially if you are going to restore the bag with a light colour / nude colour.

1. Not all black stains will be removed.
2. The restored colour may not 100% be similar to the original (See the interior (original colour) of the bag against the flap (new colour which is less pink and more nude).
3. Try to request for the metalware to be polished.
4. Smaller details need to be made known before the quotation as I forgot to mention about the key leather
   strap.
5. Colour restored leather will be drier and less supple.

Overall, I am very pleased with my bag and Honest Crafters has managed to bring my bag back to life!
