Hi all,
ย
Today, I am doing a review on my current concealer –ย Mac Pro Longwear Concealer.
Taken from the website:
A lightweight fluid concealer that provides medium to full coverage with a comfortable, natural matte finish. Colour-true formula lasts up to 15 hours. Helps conceal and correct the look of under-eye circles, and discolorations. Comes in a clear glass vial with a matte black pump.
- 9 ml / 0.30 US fl oz
- US$17.00

Packaging: The glass pump packaging seems very user-friendly and also hygienic but what bothers me most is the excessive product you get from using the pump. The pump is difficult to control and many a times, unnecessary products are squirted out, leading to wastage. The amount of product that you get from one full pump, is more than what I have in the below picture. It is that difficult if you want just a tiny amount for lets say, to cover just one acne spot. I hope that MAC would change its packaging, make it into a squeeze tube.
Value: USD17 for a 9ml concealer is definitely more than a drugstore concealer but I think it is still affordable.
Colour range: MAC is known for many shades for their bases and they categorize their foundation shades for warm and cool tones. Hence, I am pretty confident that you would be able to find your shade easily. Currently, I am using the shade NC15, which is the first shade you see on the top row below. My foundation shade is usually a mix between NC15 and NC20. From the picture of the concealer above, you would definitely think that it is very dark, especially for a far person like me. However, that is because of its orange undertones – which I am thankful for as I like using this concealer for my under-eye dark circles.

Texture and coverage: This is a mix between creamy and liquid concealers. They are not as thick as Mac Studio Fix concealer but not as thin like a runny consistency either. I would say this texture is perfect for a high coverage concealer. If you were to pat this concealer onto whatever you would like to cover, it would do its job well. However, if you rub this concealer, it would blend into the skin very naturally, losing its concealer effect. To work this concealer, you would need patting motions, to achieve coverage like below.
Long lasting: So far, I have no problems of this playing a disappearing act on my face, but this concealer need to be set because it is pretty creamy. I would say this would be perfect for those with oily skin because at times, I find this a little drying on my skin (since my skin is very dry).
Product overall: I love this concealer, in fact as much as Amazing concealer but at a much affordable price. I love using this on my undereyes and anywhere i would like to conceal. If you were to layer this concealer on for extra coverage, it would not look too cakey. All you need is the right amount of patting or using a concealer brush. But I like using my fingers more for this concealer. The only thing that bugs me is the pump. MAC, you got to change the pump!
Will I repurchase again? Yes!
