Hi all!
It’s durian season but it hits us differently this year with the Covid-19 and the circuit breaker period. This is the time where you see businesses from all walks of life trying to go digital. Buying durians is no different and now, there are durian delivery services.
8durian and 8crabs are sister companies and you can read about my review about 8crabs here. 8durain have a mix of fresh and frozen durains on sale but we would recommend the fresh durians as they will be cut, sealed and delivered to you in 60 minutes. Free delivery is provided if your purchases are more than $100.
8durians has a private high mountain plantation. For years, they have invested greatly to acquire and build the best possible plantation, equipped to grow top grade durians. Why choose 8durians?
- Advanced Irrigation โ Durians with a Perfect Green
- No Overcrowding for Profit and Organic Fertilisers Only: A Wholesome Fruit is Formed
- Preventive Nets: Amazingly Round Durians
- A Well Chopped Durian is a Better Tasting One
- 0% Wastage, 0% Unfresh Durians
The durians arrived air-sealed in plastic containers and once you receive the package, all you can smell is the aroma of the durians with the strongest aroma coming from the Black Gold. Today we tried the following:
- Mao Shan Wang A grade $21/kg
- Mao Shan Wang AAA grade $42.90 / kg
- Black Gold $47.90/kg
Mao Shan Wang A grade
Mao Shan Wang AAA grade
Black Gold
After trying, here is our verdict. Go for black gold if you love the fragrance of the durian flesh. If you love the creamy texture, go for the Mao Shan Wang AAA grade. The skin is ok, not too rubbery. The durians do sell out quite fast for 8Durians and we almost couldn’t get our durians on the day we wanted, so it seems their durians are high in demand.
