Hi all!
My last review on 5 to 5 (@5to5skin) was back in June when they first launch in Singapore. 5 to 5 skin is science-based, customer-centric, and environmentally conscious. Their products are gentle, effective and targeted for specific needs with no added fragrances, essential oils and colouring!
Back in June, they launched their Gentle Cleanser and Barrier Defender. Check out my previous post here. Aqualibrium is the latest launch by 5 to 5 Skincare which is an oil balancing hydration serum. Aqua means water, and this name is super apt for the functions of the serum.
Price:
SGD 27.50
Top 10 Ingredients in the list:
Aqua, Rosa Damascena Bulgarian (Rose Otto Flower Petals) Extract (Organic), Niacinamide, Propanediol, Glycerin, Sodium Hyaluronate (Mid- and High- Molecular Weight), Citrullus Vulgaris (Watermelon) Fruit Extract, Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Extract, Lens Esculenta (Lentil) Fruit Extract, Sodium PCA, Sodium Lactate
No fragrance, essential oils, and colorants. Cruelty-free.
Key Ingredients:
- Dual-Molecular Hyaluronic Acid to help to reduce the appearance of fine lines
- Watermelon & Apple fruit extract for moisturizing and antioxidant benefit
- Niacinamide for skin brightening and barrier repair effect
Texture:
As seen in the picture above, you can see that the serum is almost water-like. This allows the serum to sink into the skin really fast.
My thoughts:
With only 13 ingredients in this serum, you can rest assured that the effectiveness of the serum comes from the core ingredients. This is really weightless and feels like water. As someone with dry skin, I enjoy using this to layer on with other serums for my routines. Using this alone may not be hydrating enough with me, so I definitely had to pair this with a richer moisturizer (check out their Barrier Defender which I love) or a thicker serum especially for night routines.
With its non-tacky texture, this sure is suitable for those with oily to normal skin or someone living in humid weather. The inclusion of Zinc PCA in the ingredient also helps balance out the skin’s sebum level. The only downside to me is the rose extract which some of us may not fancy.
Overall, unlike the gentle cleanser and defense barrier which is more suited for dry skin users, Aqualibrium is definitely formulated for those with oily skin / live in a humid country like Singapore. I really enjoy the price point of this serum and for those looking into using skincare for the first time, this is a great starter serum.
