When I buy 2nd-hand makeup…

On April 1, 2010 by Michelle

I have been buying some 2nd-hand makeup lately from sg_beauty etc. Everytime I receive my items, I would steralize all of them before trying them on. Even if its brand new in box, I will still clean them from head to toe…lol.

Recently, I picked up 2 used nyx lipsticks in Perfect and Thalia.

Swatches:

Left: Perfect; Right: Thalia

Here is how I sterialize them:

======================================

Step 1: Prepare your bowl and rubbing alcohol (available at any pharmacies)
Step 2: Pour some alcohol into the bowl

Step 3: Tilt the bowl and dip the lipstick into the alcohol, rotating it so that the whole lipstick is soaked in the alcohol
Step 4: Whilst letting the lipstick dry, clean the cap with alcohol.

Step 5: Clean the exterior of the lipstick too.
Step 6: Finally, wipe the lipstcik with a tissue paper to ensure that its completely dry.

======================================

And now, I can use my sterlized lipsticks! 😀 This is just my method of cleaning 2nd hand makeup items for hygenie purposes. For blushes and eyeshadows, I would usually spray the product with alcohol too. I used this method as well to clean all my stash every now and then. I hope this is useful for some of you! 🙂

Today, I will be checking out the inuovi f&f sale! Anybody going? 😀
