On July 27, 2017 by Michelle Ng

Hello!

V10 has been in the skincare business for a while and they are frequently awarded by magazines. Even Fann Wong is a fan of their skin care! V10 Plus is a revolutionary supplement concept founded by Mrs. Akiko Yokota who strongly believes that Beautiful Skin=Clean, Bright, Glowing Skin without any makeup.

Ceramide Cleansing Gel

This rich and gentle gel cleanses impurities with Natural Plant extract. It moisturizes skin and Plant extract enhances the retention of essential moisture which keeps skin soft and smooth. This natural and strong moisturizer claims to not only provide protection to the skin but also locks water in the skin and provides a long lasting moisture effects.

My thoughts on this is that the cleanser is very gentle on the skin. Unlike some of my cleansers, this does not foam much, very much like the Cetaphil cleanser. Because of this, this cleansing gel does not strip my skin of my natural face oils which is essential to making sure that the skin is still supple and hydrated after cleansing. I dislike those cleansers that caused my face to become too squeaky clean and dry, and this cleanser does not do that.

Soothing Cleansing Milk

Soothing Cleansing Milk easily dissolves even long wearing face makeups including those with sunscreen. Blended with Olive Fruit Oil and Corn Oil quickly breaks down excess sebum, dirt, and debris, for clean, smooth and silky skin. Deep cleans pores and refreshes skin without upsetting the delicate moisture balance.

V10 even claims that it can break down make up, oils and impurities so lets have a test shall we?

So I tried removing my makeup with the cleansing milk but massaging the cleaning milk into my face. After rinsing off with water, I used some cotton pads and soak with mi-cellar water to do a swipe test to see if there are any residue makeup.

As you can see, there are still some foundation on the cotton pad. While the cleansing milk cleared around 70% off my make up, my face is not thoroughly cleaned. With this cleansing milk, I would recommend using it as a double cleansing step. First step with cleansing milk and second step with mi-cellar water. This combination I feel is much suitable for those with sensitive skin like me as these products are gentle to the skin.

Deep Moist Gel

Deep Moist Gel, contains 4 different types of powerful hyaluronic acid, which forms an air permeable layer and penetrates into the dermis, thus boosting the elasticity and hydration of the skin.

What it contains:

  • Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid
  • Sodium Hyaluronate
  • Sodium Acetylated Hyaluronate
  • Hydroxypropyltrimonium Hyaluronate

This water based moisturizer works best for oily skin or combination skin. Given that I have dry combination skin, I would require something creamier. However, on days when it is super humid and hot, I use this underneath my makeup as your skin still requires adequate hydration. What I love about this product is the packing. This plastic tube with a pump is perfect for traveling.

Water Based Peeling

This gentle peeling contains rice bran extract & seaweed extract. Without any harsh scrubbing, it effectively removes dead skin cells and reveals a cleaner & clearer skin instantly.

When I first tried this, I made a mistake on rubbing my skin upon applying the peeling gel. In the end, I didn’t get much of my dead skin cells removed. However, for the second try, I let the gel sit on my skin for around 5 minutes for the gel to work on my skin and finally rubbed it. This time, I could really see all the lumps of dead skin cells. Oddly satisfying!

I had pretty sensitive skin, but I had not issues using this on alternate days to remove my dead skin cells.

Water Based Sunblock

WATER BASE SUN BLOCK SPF 40/PA+++ protector which has skin protection from both UVA and UVB, with whitening and moisturizing functions. By employing gel-network formula, safety UV absorber, TITANIUM DIOXIDE / ZINC OXIDE: special processed UV scatter gives your skin a non-powdery finish. ASCORBYL TETRAISOPALMITATE: Vitamin-C derivative restricts melanogenesis and eliminates free radical.

One word of advice, shake the tube before squeezing the product out! Or else you may have cream in a watery state like what I have here above. This leaves a slight sticky feeling after application so if I were to use this as a make up base, I had to be sure to let the sunblock set before applying my makeup.

V10 Plus Bio Cell Serum

WHAT IS BIOCELL?

BIOCELL encourages the production of energy in the skin cells. BIOCELL in your skin continues to decrease as you get older. V 10 Plus slows down the symptom of aging very similar in molecular structure to estrogen. Estrogen is called the “beauty hormone”, which keeps the skin youthful. But estrogen secretion decreases dramatically from your late 40’s, so you have to supply BIOCELL to your skin.

BIOCELL IS GOOD FOR…DNA Repair, Skin Cells Repair, Anti-wrinkle, Prevention of melanin production

It contains 4 different active ingredients. The most important is Malus domestica fruit cell culture extract or apple stem cell extract. It works at a DNA level, repairs damaged cell and stimulates the growth of collagen and fibronectin.

My thoughts on this is that the bottle is easy to use with the squeeze dropper. These serums are ultra light weight and with my existing skincare routine, I like to put this as the first layer where my skin absorbs all the goodness. This serum sinks into the skin pretty fast so V10 serums are made for you to layer another serum on top of another. Recommended to have three drops of the serum every day. Sometimes, my skin gets so dry that there are dry patches on my cheeks. After using this Bio Cell serum for weeks, I seem to have seen lesser occurrences of the dry patch on my cheeks. Great job!

V10Plus Vitamin A Serum

WHAT IS VITAMIN A?

Vitamin-A controls cornification and activates your tired skin, so that your skin becomes healthier.

VITAMIN A IS GOOD FOR…Metabolism. It normalizes the turn over of the skin cells and rejuvenates your skin. Dark circles, roughness, dryness or dullness they are the signs of Vitamin-A deficiency. V 10 Plus Vitamin-A which accelerates blood circulation and metabolism.

It controls the cornification and activates your tired skin, so that you skin becomes healthier. Vitamin A is heat sensitive and unstable, hence it is formulated in order to penetrate into the skin easily. Instead of using this for the entire face, I like to concentrate this around my eye bag area, as well as my cheekbone area where I am more prone to dry patches. With 3-4 weeks of using, it is difficult to pinpoint if my dark circles has lightened or not. However, I would continue using this for my skin.
