Review: Skin79 O2 BB Cleanser

On July 24, 2012 by Michelle Ng

Hi all!

I have another review for you guys!

Skin 78 has a new BB to add to their line! No this is not a BB cream but a BB cleanser!

In addition to this new product, Skin 79 has a new ambassador!

Skin79 is proud to announce Brown Eyed Girls, the Award winning Korean girl group, as our new brand ambassadors. The group which consists of four members, Jea, Miryo, Narsha, and Gain, debuted as an R&B/ballad vocal group in 2006 and challenged themselves with different music genres. Rising to popularity in 2008, with ‘L.O.V.E.’ and retro dance music ballad ‘How Come’, they went on to complete their transition into an electronica/pop group with Abracadabra and Sign in 2009. The group made their debut in Japan in 2010 and are now considered as Korea’s first rhapsody inspired soul hybrid with Sixth Sense.

To welcome Skin79’s new ambassadors, here comes the long awaited O2 BB Cleanser with its various yet effective qualities!

  • This SELF-BUBBLING BB cleanser one in today’s market and offer a 6-in-1 effect.
  • O2 BB cleanser eliminates BB cream makeup of strong coverage with compact and rich bubbles.
  • It has a BRIGHTENING effect with three times more dense O2 Bubbletox system and the Maackia Fauriei & OBFN ingredients.
  • It contains the skin DETOX effect with micro O2 Bubble particles which clear up sebum and dead skin cells.
  • It offers ELASTICITY to the skin by supplying plenty of MOISTURE and creating a skin barrier with Chia seed and Oatmeal.
  • The self lifting massage with soft rolling effectively delivers the Acacia collagen ingredient to the skin with elasticity.
  • It is LOW IN STIMULATION with a Free Formula System, and contains no Parabens, Colour, and Pernicious ingredients from minerals or animals.

All Skin79 products are Eco-cert approved ingredients which relieve irritated skin from the external environment.

Ingredient list:

First thing that comes to my mind regarding a BB cleanser is that the cleanser would be skin-toned in color! Apparently not.

This cleanser comes in a sturdy plastic bottle.

Initially, I thought the product would be mousse like and that the dispenser would be the mousse pump. Well, I was wrong.

In fact, the product being dispensed is actually gel-like. Upon dispensing the product from the bottle, you can see bubbles within starting to form in the gel. As you massage onto your skin, the gel will lather up into foam and will eventually turn into bubbles!

Bubbles are starting to form.

And they are getting fluffier within seconds!

Don’t the foam/bubbles look like cotton?

My review:

I have been using a few moisturzing cleansers for a while now, mostly meant for dry skin. When I learnt that Skin79 is releasing a new cleanser with deep moisture, I was eager to try it out! First thought is that I am glad my skin doesn’t feel squeaky clean after using this cleanser. Wait, what? You don’t want to have a squeaky clean face? What I meant is that this cleanser does not strip off all my natural oil on my face. You know how some cleansers leave a tight feeling on your face after your face wash? That is what I meant by squeaky clean. From this, you can infer that this cleanser is gentle towards your skin.

One downside to this product is that you have to wait for all the bubbles to fully form. Yes, they start forming the second you lather it up but to reach its maximum “fluffiness”, you would need more time. When I am in a rush, to work!, I don’t have the luxury to wait for the foaming process to complete. My idea is that these bubbles provide a deep moisture to your skin. Without having the bubbles to fully form, I really wonder if my skin is really moisturized by this cleanser. Hence, I guess, I will only benefit from this the most when I wait for the bubbles to fully form.

If you notice, the ingredient list is pretty long too! As I am no scientist, I can’t tell which are harmful ingredients. All I can say is that I face no allergic reactions so far, with my skin (dry and sensitive) being prone to flare ups. If you would like a mild cleanser, this is a safe bet.
