As requested (by kate yeo & amyrleex), I have decided to do a budge proof test on L’Oreal HIP color chrome eyeliners (CLICK HERE for more swatches of the HIP line coming to Singapore!). The first thing that came to my mind when I sawthese L’Oreal HIP eyeliners were Urban decay 24/7 glide on eyeliners. Similar to UD eyeliners, the HIP eyeliners are soft too. If I were to compare, HIP eyeliners are softer to UD eyeliners. Hmmm…I better do a table for a clearer comparison:
When I first apply the eyeliners:
From this picture, you can see that the HIP eyeliners seems to be more pigmented than the UD eyeliners. In fact, the UD eyeliner in zero seems to be lacking the pigmentation among the bunch. For all eyeliners, I swatch with similar pressure and equal number of strokes.
Now under running tap water:
One swipe of the finger when my arm is still wet:
You can see that the UD eyeliners smudge quite badly. The L’Oreal eyeliner did smudge a bit but it is barely noticeable.
Re-applied again, now dry with one swipe of the finger on the bottom part of the swatches upon application:
After 3 hours, another swipe of finger on top part of the swatches:
After another 3 hours, with constant rubbing:
Conclusion: I always thought that the UD eyeliners would be the clear winner but I guess I was wrong? The fact that the L’Oreal eyeliners are softer than UD but still pass the budge proof test shows that the eyeliners are awesome products! However, we must give credit to Urban decay for having a huge variety of colours for us to choose from!
