Review: LED Teeth Whitening at Lush Aesthetics

On July 29, 2014 by Michelle Ng

Hi all!

There is a phrase saying that your eyes are the window to your soul. Well, to me, your smile is equally important. Mother Teresa once said, “Let us always meet each other with smile, for the smile is the beginning of love.”. A smile breaks the wall between two people. That is how powerful a smile is.

My favourite Totoro with his widest smile!

Lush Aesthetics is now offering LED teeth whitening that is painless and non-invasive. The latest LED Teeth Whitening technology provides a quick effective, solution for a bright white smile.

I love my coffee which explains why my teeth is badly stained. Lush Aesthetics had kindly offered me to try their LED teeth whitening so that I can show all my readers the results.

Upon entering the clinic, you will first meet with a consultant who will explain to you which treatment is best suited for you.

The LED Teeth Whitening brightens and lightens your teeth dramatically in less than an hour. 99% of our customers achieved 3 – 5 shades lighter less than an hour. My shade was Shade 22. How yellow!

The consultant has recommended that I do the intensive LED teeth whitening (at $398) which is more expensive than the regular teeth whitening (depending on the promotion, it may costs between $138 to $188). The difference is that the intensive will be done with a perioxide gel instead of an non-peroxide gel. This will allow the LED light to sink into your teeth faster to remove all stains, allowing you to achieve more than 5 shades lighter.

The 1st step is to protect our lips from drying out with a thick layer of lip balm. A gingival barrier is applied next to the gums from the LED light. The peroxide / non-peroxide gel will then be applied to your teeth which needs whitening. Not all the teeth will be applied since only the frontal set of teeth can be seen when you smile. That is of course, your smile is not as wide as Juliet Robert’s.

The whitening gel will be re-applied ever 15 minutes for 3 sessions for the best effectiveness. LED light is then turned on to activate the whitening property in the gel.

The side effects after doing the teeth whitening is slight sensitivity after the treatment for around 1-3 days. Even though I have pretty sensitive teeth, especially with cold food like iced tea or ice cream, I do not feel any sharp sensitivity in my teeth at all. There was also no damage to any of my teeth enamel or structure.

Before (Shade 22):

After (Shade 14):

I really hope this treatment is long-term and can last for years! *stares at my coffee* Or I should at least attempt to maintain this shade at least for a few years!
