Review: Hada Labo Retinol Lifting and Firming Lotion

On July 9, 2011 by Michelle Ng

Hello!

Hada Labo has released their Retinol range in Singapore since May!

Philosophy beind the Retionol skincare range by Hada Labo:

3 main ingredients found in Hada Labo Retinol skincare range:

Vitamin A Retinol, Hydrolyzed Collagen and Hada Labo’s signature ingredient, Super Hyaluronic Acid (SHA)

I have given these products to my mother to try as I feel that my skin is still relatively young to be using such products that targets anti-aging.

Review by my mother, rephrased by yours truly:

I feel that the retinol lotion is less effective on aged skin like mine (my mother is in her 50s). Despite Retinol being one of the main ingredients in the product, I do not feel much effect on my skin for the firming factor. This is probably because of the skin that has already been sagging for years. This product would rather be more effective on aging skin and not aged skin. There is not tightness when used and hence I cannot feel any firming. However, it does help to moisturze the skin since there is SHA in the product. Please also bear in mind that I am also using other anti-aging products aside the Hada Labo lotion and the lotion may not play a huge part in my skincare regime since it is combined with the usage of other products.

Again, I would recommend this product if you are seeking anti-aging products and this is probably not a product that can be used to reverse the signs of aging.

Difference between the original lotion and the Retinol range lotion?

Retinol range is sticker and thicker in texture compared to the original lotion. And as you can see from the photo above, you can tell that the original lotion is clear wheras the retinol lotion is milky. To feel, the retinol lotion feel less refreshing as compared to the original lotion as explained to my mother. The cause behind this is probably the difference in texture. This might not be as comfortabe as using the original lotion especially in a humid country like Singapore.
