Review: Elf minerlal lipstick in Natural Nymph

On January 15, 2010 by Michelle

So, to begin, Elf mineral lipstick in natural nymph is one of my items purchased from my elf haul. Why I bought it? Lollipop26 from youtube was raving about it! And since elf products are fairly cheap, why not try it out? Besides, I love nude lipsticks 😀

My camera didn’t pick up the colour very well. The lipstick is slightly lighter in real life. Pretty much like a “concealer” in a tube. But fret not, it is not drying at all! Which is a plus point for me especially when I have chapped lips. Still, it would be preferred to apply lip balm before applying natural nymph.

I might say that when applied, the colour is a tad too light for me, almost erasing out my lips, like a concealer as said. That’s when a good lipgloss comes in handy. I used a very light pink lipgloss over natural nymph as shown below in the picture. I think the lipstick+lipgloss combo would be much better than the bare lipstick alone. I would advised using a darker lipgloss as well, such as a berry lipgloss. You don’t want to look like a living dead walking around right? Being a fan of nude lips, I don’t mind natural nymph being pale at all. I can use it to even out my lip colour, add just add a lipgloss.

* I forgot to apply lipbalm before the application 😛

Placing my natural nymph next to MAC myth, they are somewhat similar, except that myth has a more pink tone to it. Natural nymph is neutral-toned. If I were to compare myth to natural nymph in terms of pigmentation and staying power, myth wins. But hey, US$5 for a lipstick, what can you say? I must praise that elf mineral lipsticks are moisturizing! From what I read online, other dupes of natural nymph would be Gosh darling and MAC creme d’nude.

Left: Mac myth Right: ELF mineral nymph

Indeed, mac myth looks creamier on the swatch but the hydration that natural nymph gives is commendable 🙂

Staying power: 4/5

Pigmentation: 3/5

Moisture: 4/5

Overall: 3.5/5

Would I recommend buying it? Yes for the ELF mineral line! Try other colours as well! They have a wide variety of colours!
