NOTD: Mermaid Sea Shell Nails – The Nail Gallery by Sharon on Vanitee app

On August 11, 2017 by Michelle Ng

Did my nails this week in lieu of my PWS! It’s too early to do my nails but next few days at work will be crazzzyyy so I better do my nails first else I will have bare naked nails for my PWS.

I chose the mermaid shell nail art because it’s in trend now and look so whimsical and cute. So sweet and demure to match my white gown. I’m more of a dark colour kind of gal but this is too cute!

It was done in a salon at Bukit Gombak, just a few mins walk from the mrt.  The picture above shows the different designs that the artist is able to do. She is really generous with the gems that are on the nails. I will get to that part later. So with mermaid designs, you can choose to do on 2 fingers or 3 fingers on each hand. I chose the latter.

The shell design can be on your entire nail, or like what I did, I had a gap (reverse french tip) so that even if my nails grows out, it is still quite natural. The shell nails is made by apply strokes of acrylic gel and then curing it under UV lamp.

One thing I like about the Nail Gallery by Sharon – name of the shop, is that she will use as much of the pearls and sparkles on your nails without any extra charges! Some salons will charge one stud for $0.50. Imagine how much my nails will cost for each stud/pearl if I were to count them. Ridiculous!
I opted for a pastel look because I wanted it for my bridal photoshoot. But I really want to do a teal and purple next time.

How I found the salon was through this Vanitee app. It was $52 for the entire nail art design plus basic manicure! Ya know, all the filing, buffing etc etc. For the offer, I love exploring the app for the latest offers by salons and you will usually chance upon a salon doing the latest nail trend at an offer! This was how I found Sharon’s shop.
This was how i did my dry flowers nail art back in April as well!

Sharon used my nails as her promotion picture!

If you are a first timer, you can get a $15 discount here!

Here’s $15 for you to discover and book beauty services with Vanitee! Use my code “michen3″.

The app will also show you how the salon looks like.  I really enjoy using the app to find latest nail trends and offers from different artists. This post is not sponsored by Vanitee at all! I just find this app really useful and user-friendly.
