Sephora had a friends and family sale about a month back with 20% off. With such a discount, how can one resist? Hence, I aimed in getting brands that are unavilable in Singapore and so I got myself a Kat Von D palette. I have been a fan of her makeup line ever since it came to the scene. One thing I love about Sephora are gift sets that are of a great value and I shared a gift set of 10 MUFE aqua creams with some of my friends and kept four for myself!
And so here is my haul!
I have been dying to try the aqua creams for a while now and neutrals are always my go to colours.
From Left to Right: Aqua cream #2, #13, #14, #15
These creams set to dry very fast and within minutes, I tried to rub them off but couldn’t!
These won’t budge at all, as seen above. They are indeed waterproof too. For around $25 per piece after discount, I’m really glad I have gotten them! They are really creamy yet long wearing. However, i must make sure that I blend these creams as soon as I have applied them.
Next, my favourite of the haul, the new Kat Von D palette – Saint. This palette belong to a series of palettes with a complete makeover.
What do I mean a makeover? See below!
The top palette was her first palette ever released. It has a rubber packaging, almost like a NARS product. The new palette however has engraved metal cover and because of that, it is heavier than its earlier counterpart.
The size and number of the eyeshadows are pretty much the same. Yes, I know, neutrals again! I cannot help it because these eyeshadows are foolproof. I have checked and none of these eyshadows are duplicates which is a relief for me.
The neutral colours are very wearable and has a mixture of cool toned and warm toned neutrals. In addition, this palette has different textures of eyeshadows – mattes, shimmery, and metallics. I would suppose this palette is more for a day time look as you can only darken your eye makeup with the two eyeshadows furthest to the right, when you want to transition it into a night time look.
Here are the names of the eyeshadows.
Left to right: Heavens, Enjoying the silence, <3, Downtown
Left to right: Sunny, Pray for me, Bookworm, Caravaggie
What I like about this new series of palettes from KVD, is that each palette comes with a miniature eyeliner!
This eyeliner is creamy, though not as creamy as khol eyeliners and best of all, I find it smudge-proof! However, this black is not the most intense black I have encountered but it is good enough for me!
The sunlight streamed in and I took another picture for you to see the colours better.
Don’t we just love sales? Well, my wallet doesn’t though, haha!
