Feature: Discover Beauty Services from Vanitee

On January 27, 2016 by Michelle Ng

Hello!

CNY is just around the corner! Everything was so backlogged this year, from spring cleaning, to getting a new set of clothes up to grooming myself properly for the Chinese festival. Thankfully, Vanitee approached me to try their app by sponsoring me to a $50 voucher! Do scroll till the end of the page for some special promotion for you guys!

So what is Vanitee? Vanitee is a website based or mobile app that connects you directly to quality independent beauty artists to ensure that you get the right one whenever and wherever you are. Think of Airbnb, but a platform for independent beauty professionals. Nowadays, there are so many startups that does not hold any assets, and just solely a listing of merchants or partners that they collaborate with. Vanitee is one of them.

When I first downloaded Vanitee, the first page shows different categories of beauty services. The top section consists of a slideshow of the latest trends, and Knit Nails is one of it! I’m probably like a hermit crab for I did not hear about Knit Nails before!

Only until I googled, I realized that this trend has been on-going for quite some time already!

And so, I decided to try knit nails for Chinese new year. I had initial thoughts of doing some CNY nail art but in the end, I put the idea aside. Besides, this set of nails will be able to last till Valentine’s day! Killing two birds with one stone. So how does Vanitee works?

Vanitee step by step

I searched for the right nail service through the artists tab and the one that stood out to me was Nailzcouture with over 483 bookings! Moreover, her home salon is just 1 mrt station away from my house! Without any hesitation, I dropped her a message.

One advice would be to always send the artist a photo of the nail art you are planning to achieve, so that she can quote you an accurate price. If the price is right and slot is available, you can then proceed to make a booking with her on the app. You are required to enter your credit card number so that the artist can charge your card immediately after the service is done.

After booking of the service, you will receive emails regarding the booking and the exact location of the salon. There is even a SMS reminder from Vanitee about your upcoming appointment. How handy! Patricia owns a home salon, so the full address of her salon is only revealed after the booking is confirmed. Getting to her place is easy (right next to Bukit Gombak). Upon arrival, I was first greeted by her cute sausage dog, Astro!

Patricia was very professional and friendly. I was a little undecided on the colour and she has really good patience with me! I am really satisfied with her service and as a Vanitee member, you get to review your nail artist on the app.

So here are my nails:

There are limited slots now for Patricia, do drop her a message if you are interested in doing your nails. She is really very nice! That aside, I am sure the slots for other nail professionals is also running low, so give it a try at Vanitee to make a booking asap!
