Drugstore Haul: Wet ‘n’ Wild, Sigma and Ecotools

On January 26, 2011 by Michelle Ng

Hello!

Here are some treats for myself for the coming Lunar New Year! I called this my drugstore haul as each item is not more than $10!

All of these were purchased from USA which explains why these are so much cheaper than purchasing here. Most cannot even be found here in Singapore!

Firstly, I purchased this Ecotools foundation brush from Drugstore.com. I already have a foundation brush from Essence of Beauty, which I love to the max. The reason I bought this foundation brush is not because I find the Essence of Beauty brush not good enough, but because I wanted this to be a spare when my Essence of Beauty brush is drying after its “bath”. In terms of size, I think this Ecotools brush is smaller, but it feels much softer. I shall review it after I gave this a try and perhaps do a comparison. I love that this Ecotools brush is environmental-friendly too!

I seem to be buying Sigma brushes everytime. To be honest, I feel like purchasing every brush that Sigma releases! Their brushes are worth purchasing as not only are they affordable, their quality is good! I know these are often compared to Mac as Sigma used to use the same number system as Mac, but now I like to judge the brush base of its own competency and not by comparing it to Mac. I bought a E30 because I need a smaller brush for my small eyelid space / crease.

My favourite products of this haul has to be the Wet ‘n’ Wild palettes! These palettes are hard to find online and I finally managed to get them off this site called NonPareilBoutique.com. Here I have Cool As A Cucumbers and Pride. At that time of purchase, the most sought palette, Lust, is not available and I only managed to get Pride out of my wishlist. The Trio, Cool As A Cucumber was a last minute decision as I find this colour combination a tad similar to Lust palette.

More close-up shots:

I am falling in love with Wet ‘n’ Wild palettes. I love the fact that the palettes are so compact, albeit not as sturdy as high-end ones. The applicators that came along with the palettes are of not much to me though.

In my opinon, this has to be the best packaging I have seen for drugstore palettes! They are simple, sleek, and compact.

Here are the swatches:

They are brilliantly soft and velvety to touch. The pigmentation is insane for drugstore palettes, especially for matte eyeshadows. Why did I not purchase these palettes before? However, because they are so smooth and fine, there might be a little bit of fall-outs. I have not tried using them yet but I will comment on them once I have.

Wet ‘n’ Wild has come out with a new series of Icon eyeashadow trios and palettes. I am dying to get my hands on them but no stores online seem to have stock of these. If only I have a US friend who resides there!

Here are some eyecandies for you to drool over:

For US$2.99 and $4.99, they are really great palettes not to be missed! If you reside in USA, you are so lucky!
